I recently had the pleasure of training with Peter Marshall at the Roehampton Club in London. Marshall held the No. 1 ranking in both Britain and Europe, and reached the No. 2 ranking in the world in November 1994, behind Jansher Khan. He secured notable victories against reigning World Open champion Rodney Martin and at the World Open in Johannesburg became the first British player in 11 years to defeat Jahangir Khan, a historic win. His unique double-handed playing style, which he developed in childhood due to the weight of rackets at the time, made him particularly deceptive and tricky to play! We started with some boast and drive, followed by a few length games. It was an honour to share the court with him. I have included the periods between games in the video because if you listen carefully you can hear his words of wisdom as he offered me tactical and technical advice.
