We have lots of questions on the BS7671 18th Edition exam and many of them ask about Zs or earth fault loop impedance - how is it calculated, why are there so many different Zs values in the books and which ones to use. And many more questions asking for more detail. So in this video we will go a little more in depth and explain what we are trying to achieve when the book specifies a certain Zs or a certain fault current, What are the calculations to achieve this and how do we use the various tables. There is only one main calculation, and if it comes up in your exam, it’s very easy to use. Perhaps the easiest calculation in the entire Wiring Regulations book. And other questions that are often asked - can I use the on-site guide to answer questions about Zs in my 18th edition exam? Can I take the on-site guide into the exam? We answer all these questions and guide you through all the important pages relating to Zs. We have worked examples during the video and at the end of the video we have several questions for you to attempt yourself – and of course – the answers are included. This is video number 264 and to view all our videos type in LearnElectrics into the YouTube search bar. ******************************************************************** Copy the link below into your browser to download a free copy of Amendment 3 from the IET and to find out what Amendment 3 is about. • AMENDMENT 3 IS LIVE – WIRING REGULATI... ******************************************************************** Visit our YouTube channel where we have many more videos on a wide range of electrical topics.
