From a young age, David Aguilar Amphoux always loved playing with Lego. Born with a genetic disease that caused him to be missing his right forearm, David always knew he was a little different. Building with Lego blocks was his escape route and creative outlet – and his creations were anything but conventional: at 9 years old, he began exploring how to build a mechanical arm with LEGO bricks. At 18, he succeeded in building a prosthetic arm with a movable elbow joint and a grabber to pick things up – and the rest is history. Today, David is working to provide accessible, affordable, and high-functioning prosthetics for those who need them the most. With his brand, "Hand Solo", David is inspiring people around the globe to always pursue their dreams, and embrace their unique qualities. “My story of overcoming disability teaches both children and adults to believe in their dreams, to fight for them and not to collapse in the face of adversity. As Spiderman says, with great power comes great responsibility and with my story I have understood what my role is in this life. Inspire, motivate and raise awareness”, he says.
