Khutbah delivered by Br Mohamed at Nrentford jummah on the 20th August 2025 Please like, comment and share. May Allah reward you for spreading the messages of Islam. Islam is a religion of justice and balance. Allah has made us a justly balanced nation. And thus We have made you a just community that you will be witnesses over the people and the Messenger will be a witness over you. (Al-Baqarah 2:143). What is Moderation? It is living with balance between worldly life and the Hereafter. It means avoiding extremism and negligence, following the Qur’an and Sunnah. The Prophet ﷺ warned against extremism. When three men vowed to pray all night, fast every day, and avoid marriage, the Prophet ﷺ said: “I fast and break my fast, I pray and sleep, and I marry women. Whoever turns away from my Sunnah is not from my followers.” (Ṣaḥīḥ al-Bukhārī) The Importance of Moderation: Builds a merciful and cohesive society. Protects the Ummah from extremism and terrorism. Keeps us firm on the straight path. How to Achieve Moderation? Adhering to the Qur’an and Sunnah. Seeking sound knowledge of Islam. Following the example of scholars and preachers. Making moderation a foundation in life. Allah praises moderation in all things: In worship, wealth, and speech. “Those who spend are neither extravagant nor miserly, but hold a middle way.” (Al-Furqan 25:67) Three men came to the houses of the wives of the Prophet ﷺ asking about the worship of the Prophet ﷺ. When they were informed, they considered it little and said: “Where are we compared to the Prophet ﷺ? Allah has forgiven his past and future sins.” One of them said: “As for me, I will pray at night forever.” Another said: “I will fast all the time and never break my fast.” And another said: “I will stay away from women and never marry.” The Messenger of Allah ﷺ then came to them and said: “Are you the ones who said such and such? By Allah, I am the one among you who fears Allah the most and is most mindful of Him, yet I fast and I break my fast, I pray and I sleep, and I marry women. So whoever turns away from my Sunnah is not from me Moderation is not weakness—it is strength, wisdom, and true piety. Islam is the religion of balance, and through it, we become witnesses of truth for humanity. #Islam #Moderation #FridayKhutbah #JusticeInIslam #BalancedLife #ProphetMuhammad #QuranAndSunnah #AntiExtremism #IslamicWisdom #Ummah
