A Training session was held on occupational health and safety for sanitary workers at the District Council Hall in Sheikhupura, organized under a GIZ-funded project aimed at strengthening local governments, which is being implemented by PMDFC. Over 50 sanitary workers, including females, attended the session, focused on the importance of safety when handling solid and liquid waste. They were also sensitized about the proper use of safety equipment being provided to them by GIZ valued at approximately PKR 6 million. Experience resource persons like Ms. Rizwana Anjum, OH Specialist. Imparted the training explaining relevant topics in detail with practical demonstrations. Participants learned about various protective measures, emphasizing the significance of personal protective equipment (PPE) and safe handling techniques. This initiative not only enhances workplace safety but also fosters a culture of care and responsibility within the community. By empowering our workers with the right knowledge and tools, we are working together to create a safer environment for everyone.
