Last week I ruffled some feathers when I referred to Cincinnati as “the Paris of America” … some people weren’t too happy with the comparison… but it wasn’t me that came up with it, it really was a moniker given to Cincinnati back during its heyday…. Plus it’s a great segue to this week’s video, which takes a look at the Paris of northeastern PA…. Well at least according to Micheal Scott. At this point, Scranton has become the punchline to a lot of jokes in large part due to its biggest exports in the last 50 years being Joe Biden and the Office. But all jokes aside, it is a cool place … and surprisingly big and impressive (…that’s what she said). It played a crucial role in the American coal mining industry. And Because of the massive industrial role that they once played in the growth of America, there is still a ton to explore … in the form of fascinating architecture and historical spots.
