One quiet afternoon in BGC, Manila, I met up with my friend April for a portrait session in the park. The light was soft, the air warm, and the city buzzed just enough to remind you it was alive—but we had carved out a small corner of calm to create something personal. I brought along my Nikon Zf, a camera that feels like a love letter to photography itself. With the Nikon Z 40mm f/2 SE, I captured those in-between moments—the glances, the laughter, the candid frames that feel unposed but honest. Then, switching to the Nikon 85mm f/1.4 via the FTZ II adapter, I slowed down, manually focusing each frame and letting the lens paint soft, dreamy backgrounds behind April’s expressions. To share more than just the final images, I filmed the process using my Fujifilm X-S20, paired with the XF 16mm f/1.4, Sennheiser MKE 400 mic, and Fujifilm TG-BT1 selfie stick/tripod. This isn’t just about gear—it’s about telling a story through light, mood, and connection.
