Who's Your Idol?

I have a question for you: Who or what do you idolize? Many of us can think of a sports figure, author or Hollywood entertainer that we look up to. While there is nothing wrong in acknowledging and appreciating others’ talents, it IS wrong to give them more admiration than God. The Bible is clear that there are to be no gods—things or people—above the One True God. Here’s my working, if not rudimentary, definition of idolatry: If you made a list of things that you love and God is not at the top, then anything above Him is an idol. Idols can take many forms and aren’t always what we think. Take some time to look within yourself and be honest—who or what do you give more value and attention to? If you find it’s your family, friends, job, phone, likes/followers or ANYTHING(!) other than the Creator of the Universe, ask Him to forgive you.
