The Black Village In Venezuela

Venezuela's African history. In this video, I visit several historic sites like the Cultural Music School of Pablo Rada in Curiepe and an afro-descendant community in San José Barlovento to learn more about the black people that live in Venezuela and its African history. San José de Barlovento is a city in the state of Miranda, Venezuela. It is the capital of Andrés Bello Municipality, Miranda, and is known to host a large community of Afro Venezuelans who cultivate chocolate. While visiting there I was able to witness a game of baseball played by a black Venezuelan team. Curiepe is an Afro-Venezuelan town in the state of Miranda Venezuela founded by free slaves. known as the mecca of Afro-Venezuelan Curiepe there you can visit a cultural music school and a cultural Museum that educates people about Venezuela's African heritage. At the end of June, they host a huge celebration for the Saints of the slave's San Juan Bautista. During the celebration, people march in the street dancing to the beat of the Congos of San Juan.
