**PLEASE LET ME KNOW IF YOU’VE EXPERIENCED SHEARED or GALLED THREADS on your BOLTS mounting your WHIRLWIND PROPELLER. I’m collecting data.** The number of people I’ve had react to this issue is scary and it seems we could have a serious flight safety issue on our hands. Thanks to LIFT Aviation for sponsoring this episode. They have a wide range of high quality aviation gear. Use code CLEAREDDIRECT15 at checkout for 15% off your order. Visit them at http://liftaviationusa.com Other than SHEARED PROPELLER BOLTS, my first condition inspection of the Backcountry Bogey is going well. I’m actually really pleased with how few maintenance issues (“squawks”) I’ve had all year. It’s also a great opportunity to upgrade the RANS S-21 with new 29” Alaskan Bush Wheels and Koger Sunshades. I’m still trying to run the Continental Titan IO-340 high compression engine cooler but the intakes are way too small (which is how this plane flies so fast). Perhaps there’s a solution in the electronic ignition—don’t advance the timing so much!
