This is an overview of how to port LS cylinder heads. I'm working with 317 heads that come on a 6.0 LS engine. Just a little port work along with a moderate healthy cam, such as the Cam Motion Junkyard Dog that I'll be running, should make 500 HP. I'm going over the basics of what areas need to be worked and I'll be providing update videos where you can see what the work looks like. This is for the DIY people who would like to tackle porting heads at home with a die grinder or dremel. The 317 and the famous 243 heads are essentially the same port wise, but the 317 has a larger combustion chamber. Therefore 317 heads are a great option for diy porting. By showing the differences in heads, you can also see whay port work you need to do on an older head such as SBC, SBF, and BBC. Hope everyone finds this helpful.
