This project is a documentary-style long-form re-edit shaped from observational footage of a small-space harvest (CC BY license) The original material was repetitive and loosely structured. My role as editor was to design a clear narrative arc that demonstrates abundance within constraints — using pacing, selective trimming, and restraint rather than heavy graphics or effects. What this edit demonstrates: Story shaping from footage: structured around a clear hook → conflict → payoff arc Editorial judgment: aggressive cutting of repetition while preserving authenticity and tone Long-form pacing: maintaining engagement across a ~11-minute runtime without over-editing Documentary restraint: letting actions and visuals carry meaning instead of relying on graphics Natural transitions: clean, invisible section breaks using sound, timing, and rhythm Narrative approach: Hook: establishes the promise of harvesting meaningful food in a small space Conflict: subtle doubt around space limitations and urban constraints Payoff: visual proof of abundance from a small number of plants The focus of this edit is not instruction or spectacle, but clarity, proof, and viewer experience — the same approach required for documentary, educational, and industrial-style YouTube content. Tools & skills used: Adobe Premiere Pro Long-form documentary editing Narrative restructuring & pacing Minimalist, story-first editorial approach This piece reflects my editing style: documentary-first storytelling with cinematic restraint, prioritising meaning and flow over unnecessary visual decoration.
