LUMS NOP Summer Coaching Session 2023

Directed and Produced by: Syed Abdullah The NOP Summer Coaching Session (SCS) 2023 commenced with the usual zeal but with an added surge of energy this year. From July 24th to August 7th, the campus buzzed with an electrifying vibe as the coaching session unfolded, embracing new endeavors, and crafting fresh memories for both the participants and those steering the entire experience. The NOP witnessed an unceasing stream of triumphs, building upon the NOP Online Application System in its sixth year of operation . This year marked a milestone as the team garnered a remarkable count of 9,122 applications for the SCS - an achievement deserving applause. After a meticulous verification process, 729 participants from various corners of Pakistan earned invitations to the session, out of which 650 embarked on the journey to the campus. In response to the influx of participants, a dedicated team of 41 Volunteers was summoned a week before the session's commencement for training and preparation. Comprising LUMS and students, these Volunteers exemplified an unwavering commitment to seamless execution of the session. Their passion knew no bounds. After comprehensive training, these Volunteers were entrusted with diverse responsibilities, including lab sessions, attendance management, hostel discipline, and overseeing the framework of various student-related activities. The spirited Registration Day welcomed a diverse blend of students to the LUMS campus. With 404 males and 244 females hailing from various cities including Zhob, Waziristan, Tharparkar, Usta Muhammad, Umer Kot, Mardan Bannu, Quetta, Kasur, Skardu, Hunza, Chitral, Malakand Division, Azad Jammu Kashmir, Rajanpur, DG Khan, and Bahawalpur, the coaching session radiated the richness of Pakistan's geographical and cultural diversity. Out of these, a remarkable 99% opted for boarding, embracing campus life. The Summer Coaching Session experienced a considerable number of participants coming from different minorities and ethnic groups across Pakistan, which was yet another testament of inclusivity, diversity that too beyond borders. Following a comprehensive orientation session, students embarked on a 15-day immersive journey of academic, mental, and physical growth, punctuated by enriching extracurricular experiences. Tailored curriculum segments in English, Math, Basic Sciences, and Life Skills prepared the students for the standardized examination required for LUMS admissions. To elevate their holistic development, Critical Thinking and Presentation Skills classes were introduced, fostering conceptual reasoning and effective communication. Lab sessions equipped students with essential skills like email management, web browsing, and proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite, along with familiarizing them with LUMS Admission and Financial Aid online applications.
