One of the lesser talked about three-point specialists of the 90s is Dennis Scott, AKA 3-D. Scott came out of high school as one of the nation's best players and proved during an incredible career with the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets, as one of the NCAA's top scorers and shooters. Culminating in a 1990 FInal Four appearance as he teamed with Kenny Anderson and Brian Olver to form "Lethal Weapon 3" THen he was one of the earliest Orlando Magic draft picks and looked good, but an injury in year 2 led to the team finishing at the bottom of the league. But this helped them the first pick in the 1992 NBA Draft, as they selected LSU's Shaquille O'Neal, who would develop immediate on and off-court chemistry with Dennis Scott. Then Penny Hardaway came the next year, and as Shaq and Penny became the stars, Scott got lost in the mix, yet was still invaluable to the Orlando Magic offense and their trip to the 1995 NBA Finals, after knocking off Michael Jordan and the Chicago Bulls, even setting the single game and single season 3 point record in '96. But soon after, Shaq left, and Penny's knee issues began, and Scott wanted out of Orlando, but when he got out, his career declined quickly.
