This Emerald Hills "Skylet" features Doug Lucas, President of Team Expansion, testing some new equipment for EAA of the night skies from Team Expansion's international operating base ("International Services") on the outskirts of Louisville, Kentucky. In particular, we test an Icron Raven 3104 box which converts USB 3 and USB 2 (both!) to travel up to 100 meters (300 feet) over cat 6 or cat 7 (ethernet) cable. We also test a new "distribution box" for better cable management (riding on top the scope) and a power supply box (under the tripod). Learn more about the Icron Raven here: http://www.icron.com/products/icron-b... The scope is an 8-inch RASA from Celestron. The mount is a Sky-watcher EQ6R Pro. We were able to find our Raven on eBay for $400 without power supplies. This wasn't too bad, because we enjoyed the "science fair project" of building the power supplies as integrated pieces with our EAA kit. Thanks for watching! PS. We finished the box just a couple of days after recording this footage.
