✨ Meet Rashad ✨ Rashad is 27 years old and originally from Brooklyn, New York. I met him last week during a feeding, and we’ve been working together ever since. He has been in Jacksonville for four years and has only recently experienced homelessness within the last month. After the feeding, Rashad and I sat and talked. He shared how motivated he is to get back to work and how badly he wants to take control of his life again. He has the drive, the determination, and the work ethic he just hasn’t had the support or resources he needs. We talked about his work experience, and I let him know I would be more than happy to take him to staffing agencies. Rashad told me that’s truly all he needs a chance. He’s confident that if he can just get in front of the right places, he can land a job. Rashad is currently in a program at a local mission that guarantees him a bed every night and allows him to work, so he can come and go around his work schedule. The only missing piece is employment. So far, we’ve visited a couple of staffing agencies. One asked him to return for an interview yesterday — and that’s exactly what we did. 🙌 I’ll be keeping you all updated on Rashad and his journey. We are hopeful and praying he will be starting a job very soon!
