Public broadcasters have become indispensable in this age of targeted disinformation, as they do not operate for profit and are independent of government control. Yet they face multiple obstacles: Some say they waste taxpayers' money. Others claim they cannot be critical of the government because that’s their source of funding. How can sustainable funding from the government be reconciled with the imperative of neutrality?
