I've just bought myself a Silky F180 Folding Saw, to replace a Bahco Laplander which got lost. In this video, I say why I chose the Silky F180 over getting another Bahco Laplander and I also have a few things to say about the claims I see all over YouTube, arguing that the Silky F180 is useless as a Bushcraft saw, as the blade is too brittle. BTW—I'm not setting myself up as any kind of great outdoorsman or bushcrafter here. Nor am I claiming to be a Samurai master at using Japanese pull-saws; I'm still working on polishing my own technique and trying to overcome a lifetime's muscle memory of using Western style saws. But I do think a lot of people on YouTube who DO CLAIM to be experts are doing the Silky F180 a disservice by proclaiming it's no good as a Bushcraft saw, because the blade is too fragile. When, most of the time, they're not even using it properly in the first place.
