The Honda Sensing safety suite debuts on trim levels EX and higher. New Sport and Touring trims join the lineup. Exterior color options gain three new colors: Orange Burst Metallic, Midnight Amethyst Metallic, and Platinum White Pearl. All HR-V models benefit from increased sound deadening measures. TRIM LEVELS (INTERIOR AND EXTERIOR OPTIONS) The HR-V is Honda’s smallest entry in Honda’s crossover/SUV lineup, below the CR-V and Pilot. 2019 HR-V LX: The HR-V’s base trim includes a multi-angle rearview camera, halogen projector headlights, Bluetooth streaming audio, 17-inch aluminum wheels, and a 5.0-inch infotainment screen. 2019 HR-V Sport: The Sport builds on the features of the LX and adds a leather-wrapped steering wheel, dual-mode steering wheel paddle shifters, 18-inch aluminum wheels (the only 2019 HR-V trim with 18-inchers), a 7.0-inch touchscreen with integrated Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and active noise cancellation. 2019 HR-V EX: The EX features push-button start with keyless entry and auto-locking exit, the Honda Sensing safety suite, heated front seats, automatic climate control, and a power moonroof. 2019 HR-V EX-L: Upgrading to the EX-L adds a leather-trimmed interior and shift knob, and auto-dimming rearview mirror. 2019 HR-V Touring: The top-level HR-V adds satellite navigation, an 8-way power driver’s seat, LED headlights and fog lights, and HomeLink. All-wheel drive is standard on the Touring model. PERFORMANCE AND FUEL ECONOMY Every HR-V comes standard with a 1.8-liter four-cylinder engine producing 141 hp and 127 lb-ft of torque, mated to a CVT. All-wheel drive is optional on all trims level except for the Touring, where it is standard. Every front-wheel drive model receives a 28/34 mpg city/highway rating. The LX is the mileage champ in all-wheel drive guise, earning 27/31 mpg. All other all-wheel drive trim levels net 26/31 mpg. SAFETY The Fit received an overall five-star safety rating from the NHTSA (out of a possible five stars) and a Good rating in four IIHS crash tests. Honda Sensing is now standard on EX trim levels and above. This safety suite includes autobraking technology along with forward collision warnings and pedestrian detection, adaptive cruise control, lane departure and road departure assist systems, and auto high beams. With Honda Sensing, the Honda Fit earned a Superior rating — the best rating possible — in the IIHS’ front crash prevention tests. UTILITY (CARGO SPACE AND INTERIOR ROOM) The 2019 Honda HR-V features a voluminous interior, especially given its compact dimensions. With the rear seats up, the HR-V can accommodate 24.3 cubic feet of space (23.2 cubic feet on all-wheel drive models). The rear seats fold down in a 60/40 split, providing up to 58.8 cubic feet with both seats folded down (55.9-57.6 cubic feet on all-wheel drive models). Front- and rear-seat legroom is 41.2 and 39.3 inches, respectively. TECHNOLOGY The 2019 Honda HR-V LX comes standard with a 160-watt stereo with four speakers, USB input, Bluetooth streaming audio, and a 5.0-inch color LCD screen. Sport, EX, EX-L and Touring trims add another USB port in the front console, a 180-watt stereo with six speakers, a high-resolution 7.0-inch touchscreen, plus Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration. EX models and above add HD and SiriusXM receivers. Touring Models exclusively feature satellite navigation. WHAT WE THINK During a long-term test with a 2016 Honda HR-V, we liked its handling, calling it a “particularly good handler in its class.” Despite its trim dimensions, it also made good use of space. In our long-term verdict we said “It’s small enough to nimbly sneak around traffic yet spacious enough for a weekend camping trip with a couple friends.” KEY COMPETITORS: Subaru Crosstrek Nissan Kicks Chevrolet Trax Read more reviews and articles about this vehicle Watch 7 Reasons Why the Honda HR-V Is a Tiny Honda 2019 HONDA HR-V PRICING Fair Market Price - New Car what is this? $23,041 Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price $20,520 Estimated Monthly Payment to Own New $415 /month TOP RANKING COMPETITORS (Base Model) PRICING MPG HORSEPOWER 1 2019 NISSAN KICKS Base Price 18,540 2 2019 HYUNDAI KONA Base Price 19,990 3 2019 FORD ECOSPORT Base Price 19,995 5 2019 HONDA HR-V Base Price 20,520 SEE TOP COMPETITOR
