Es discípulo de Shubhendra Rao, dentro de la tradición de la Senia-Maihar Gharana. En el 2001, fue a estudiar a India para aprender sitar bajo la tutela de su Gurú Pandit Shubhendra Rao, uno de los mejores sitaristas de su generación. Ha sido becario del Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR), y becario del FONCA para estudiar sitar en la tradición oral llamada Guru-Shishya Parampara. Actualmente es Creador Escénico por el FONCA. Hollving es de los pocos extranjeros y el único mexicano dedicado a la música clásica de India que se ha presentado en la misma India tocando sitar con difusión a nivel nacional por TV (NDTV), prensa y por radio a más de cien países a través de All Indian Radio.
