Hey everyone! It’s been a while since my last short on buying a Tesla—thanks to everyone who commented, subscribed, and shared feedback. In this update, I share our family’s real experience after doing demo drives on the Tesla Model Y (both standard and premium versions) with my wife and kids. We spent a total of ~3 hours behind the wheel (1-hour + 2-hour extended demo—shoutout to the awesome Tesla team for no pressure!). Key takeaways: • The instant torque on an EV is absolutely wild—never driven one before, but it’s game-changing. • FSD (Full Self-Driving Supervised) is incredible: navigating onto/off the interstate, lane changes, everything feels unbelievable. I’d definitely subscribe occasionally ($99/mo) for long trips or vacations. • Current deals are tempting: 0% APR for 72 months on base Model Y RWD/AWD (or low rates on others), no haggling, straightforward buying via the app. But… the big hesitation? Adding ~$650/mo payment (with ~$5k down + insurance bump) when we currently have zero car payments on our high-mileage vehicles (115k on one, ~105k on the 2013 Silverado). With our youngest son getting his license soon, we’re thinking about keeping our reliable rides for him and maybe adding a Tesla for us (home charging setup planned). Alternatives like Honda Civic/Accord are on the table too, especially with fuel prices climbing due to Middle East tensions. This isn’t fanboy hype or hate—it’s just honest thoughts for anyone in the same boat. If you’re considering a Tesla, GO DRIVE ONE! Download the app, schedule a test drive—it’s pressure-free and eye-opening. What do you think—worth the jump? Drop your experiences below!
