By Anna Strout, Priscilla Cuevas, Jessica Mott, Shana Ritter, Christopher DeYoung, Peg Smith [SCROLL DOWN FOR INSTRUCTIONS] Let’s celebrate and honor a family member, friend, teacher, public figure, artist or activist who inspires you. This intergenerational activity involves using found objects and household materials to craft a homemade altar. You start with a box to house your altar, then you begin filling it with items, trinkets, artifacts , mementos, adornments, spiritual/symbolic objects from or evocative of your chosen person. Next, you’ll add images/photos of the person, collect meaningful quotes or words of this person, write your own letter/ode/haiku, add food special to this person, make flowers out of paper or pick wild ones, make ribbon stars and paper candle decorations, and, finally, illuminate it with lights and candles, placed in handmade paper lanterns. You can replace or add things whenever you like. How lovely it will be to have a living, evolving tribute to someone you admire! ARTS RECORDED WORKSHOP 2 ---------- Head [1] . Heart [3] .
