In addition, the size and weight of the architectural panels requires the use of several people (up to 5/6) for loading and alignment operations in the machine. Furthermore, there is an increasing demand for complex box shapes that require V-Groove milling with different angles. Therefore, they are asking for the possibility of performing high-speed V-Groove milling at any angle requested by the facade designers. Obviously, if it were possible to perform it at high speed and with a high finish, the Ranger solution would be indispensable. Large panels workable The height and solidity of the base, and the flatness of the vertical structure, ensure that large panels can be processed while occupying the least possible space. This machine has been conceived in 2021 when a French customer said that his warehouse had half of the ACM panels with the good face up and half with the good face down (the good face is the one covered by the protective film). Our Alu Loader Patented in 2011 could only handle the ACM with the good face up. Therefore we designed and build an arm that can articulate in order to lift a panel or flip a panel depending on how the pallet has been oriented. With long and wavy ACM panels the Loader has gained lots of customers happy to load without hassles. After few months customers asked for more capacity of loading and Loader became able to load also “heavy” panels such as HPL fibercement or solid aluminum panels. Originally made for ACM (aluminum composite material), Alu Bender can process the edges of Alu honeycomb panels, HPL and fibercement. In ACM and honeycomb panels the process consists of milling off the undesired material (normally the back face or skin) and then bending the fin remained to cover the edge determining the hemming. This process allows a higher protection for the edges but also improves the quality overall of the panel. With a similar process but with different tooling the aluminum honeycomb panels are milled and bend in order to close the edges and protect the 4 sides. HPL has s slightly different concept. When cut by saw blades the edge is full of chatter marks and also there is a need of bevel both top and bottom of the edge. Alu Bender simply removes few decimals of material flattening the edge and removing the chatter marks. After that process a second unit with two independent HF motors bevels or makes a radius on both top and bottom, IN THE SAME PASS.
