So, I had to nip out to pick up a bike for my daughter, and my mate and channel regular, Phil, mentioned there was an abandoned 16th century chapel, in the that very area. So I thought it rude not to pop up and have a look. Trinity Chapel sits in the woods between the villages of Wessington and Brackenfield in Derbyshire, and has sat that, abandoned since 1856. The Doomsday Book of 1086 lists the location as having a chapel, but this incarnation was built in 1511. The sheriff of arms to King Henry 8th, built the chapel in memorial to his late wife, and it served the community for over 300 years before a new church was built nearby. I really enjoyed this one, as the whole atmosphere around the place was really calming and peaceful.
