Episode 36 - A Dismal Trip to Cape Disappointment - Travel and Exercise

Lewis and Clark visited this area in the winter of 1805, and not surprisingly considered the weather to be dismal. The place they called the "Dismal Nitch" was where they spent six days wet, cold, and miserable. That is standard at the coast, but I caught a break and had a beautiful, if cold, day at the beach. I spent it touring the Cape Disappointment Lighthouse, the Lewis and Clark Interpretive Center, and I rented a yurt at the Cape Disappointment State Park. In addition, I dug a limit of razor clams at the low tide in nearby Long Beach, WA. * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * As the title suggests, some people think I am a little strange. And for sure I like getting out and about! That is why I am the Odd Man Out.
