2024 Wyoming Wildlife Photo Contest

There’s a lot of folks out there who enjoy time in the outdoors hunting the state’s abundant wildlife---but not all of them do it with a bow or rifle. Some are very good at taking a shot with a camera, and the Wyoming Game and Fish Department would love to see what you’ve brought home…and pay you for it. That’s because some of those photos would be perfect for a magazine. Entries for the Wyoming Wildlife annual photo contest are now being taken through November 13th. Winning entries will be announced in the February 2024 photo issue of Wyoming Wildlife Magazine. The contest has provided a platform for wildlife photographers for over 50 years, giving them a chance to show off their innovation and creativity in capturing the images of some of the most diverse species in the U.S. Here’s what you need to know: Photos must have been taken in Wyoming, and by following ethical photography guidelines. Photos may not have been previously submitted to (or taken on assignment for) Wyoming Wildlife. Photos must have been taken by the person submitting the entries and may not infringe on the copyright of others. Overall grand prize: $600 check for best overall photo plus a $350 voucher for a print of their shot on metal, acrylic, gallery mount, or other canvas donated from Artizen Photo Printing of Cheyenne, Wyoming. Prizes also are given to second and third places, as well as honorable mention recognition. Contestants can submit up to 10 photographs in the following categories: Wildlife, scenic, recreation—those are photos of people enjoying the outdoors—and flora.
