Deep in the mysterious Hindu Kush Mountains the local tribe in Gabral Valley faces severe snowfall turning the valley into a no man's land. This tribe suffer the most from land sliding, avalanches and flooding. But there is one man in the valley which notices all these changes over the years in weather pattern. People called him the Horse rider or Messenger. In the monsoon, he travels down the river and inform the nearby villagers about the possible flooding. These people have started adapting their lifestyle to the changing weather, for the last ten years due to severe snowfall in winter the valley turns deserted. Which results in mass migration from the valley. Only one man left behind in the valley and that is the Messenger, Dua Khan (horse rider), who looks after the left-behind houses and livestock. Just before the onset of winter Dua Khan starts to collect wood, food and herbs. He will later use these herbs for the treatment of different ailments in harsh conditions. Dua Khan also ensures to run the local watermill so that he has enough flour for the long winter. When Dua Khan was growing up in the valley, he always believed that when the lightning strikes it makes them bountiful. He uses his intuition to predict severe flooding and snow storms by just looking at the shape and color of the clouds. His only source of communication to the neighboring valley is his horse back with which he traverses the treacherous paths and narrow lanes for almost a week, provided the weather remains less hostile. This documentary film will reveal his struggle and determination against all odds in an extremely unforgiving nature. So they have developed these indigenous and enterprising means of early warning systems combating flooding and snow storm. This captivating and serene natural wonderland cry for its children to make its lap full and not leave it.The people of this valley have carved out methods of survival in this toughest terrain. But the climatic change and global warming effects are glaringly visible in the valley making their life ever more prone. The efforts to provide a main stream arena for their progress in the remotest area coupled with the conservation and preservation of their environment is the need of the hour.
