Keyboard: Merisi Ottantaquattro - silver by @MerisiWorks Switches: Vintage MX Blacks - from a 1987 wyse pce. Switch mods: Light 205g0, gon 62g springs. Leaf swapped. Tech key sticker films Plate: Full Aluminum Keycaps: GMK Handarbeit R2 PCB: Hiney Solder PCB Stabs: TX Rev 3 Mount: Top Mount Weight: 7.7lbsd / 3.37kg Thoughts on board: Solder pcb makes a huge difference compared to the hotswap I had earlier. Board sounds great. Very heavy, and a really great design that’s really unique. Genuinely one of the best sounding boards I’ve typed on. Spacebar is definitely the standout point here. My thoughts on these vints: When I originally desoldered these vints, I wasn’t actually that impressed with the smoothness, and found them pretty scratchy. A birdy told me (druah), said to try leaf swapping them. They might have been corroded. Unfortunately, he was correct. After painfully leaf swapping, these are by far the smoothest cherry switches I have typed on, but interestingly enough, still retain that residual white noise scratch that is oh so characteristic of cherry switches. The top out isn’t as clacky as hyperglides, it's a more soft sound, but I think it works very well on a board this aggressive sounding. The techkey film stickers I genuinely think do make a difference. They’re very very thin, making the switches sound as stock as possible, the fullest they will sound, while also still reducing the stem wobble, though, probably not as well as something thicker, but still gets the job done. Ight- yapping over.
