What does an enlarged prostate look like? Well, cystoscopy is one of the basic diagnostic procedures we perform in urology to look at the prostate. The new HugeMed single use disposable cystoscope is amazing. We got to try out the new high definition large digital screen system. The scope design is pretty cool. It has a 270 degree rotation feature so that the user can rotate the scope without rotating the handle. It also has one of the smallest scope diameters on the market (12F or 4mm). Down there, size matters, and the smaller it is, the more comfortable. It has a suction port in addition to a working channel to provide the urologist with a number of visualization and tool options. But the best part of it all, is that it is one of the most cost effective disposable cystoscopes out there. It is great to see technology advancing and a little healthy competition bringing down costs! This video illustrates flexible cystoscopy using the @hugemed cystoscope in a patient who has an enlarged prostate (BPH) and a median lobe protruding into the bladder.
