Driving from Nørre Alslev to Farø in Denmark. Winter. Farø is an island between Zealand and Falster. The Farø Bridges connect Zealand to Falster via Farø. A dam connects Farø to Bogø. This dam was completed in 1979 in connection with the work on the Farø Bridges, and has swallowed the smaller, uninhabited islet Kragetinget. The dam consists of pumped-in sand, which is sown with grasses that can withstand seawater. The slopes are flat and without stone protection, so that they naturally blend into the landscape. The work began in early 1978 and also included earthworks and road works on Farø for the future bridge. A large working harbour was built, where materials for the construction could be unloaded. After the work was completed, the harbour and the workplace were removed. The Farø Bridges were inaugurated on 4 June 1985.[2] Farø belongs to Bogø Parish in Vordingborg Municipality. Area: 0.93 km².
