Coping strategies are designed to help children and adults identify what causes them stress and what are healthy ways of reducing their stress. The coping strategy employed seeks to reconnect the individual with their innermost emotions and address the root cause of the stressors. Material required 1. Printout of the Face outline. 2. Colours – Sketches, crayons, color pencils, paint, and brush. Instructions 1. Your child will be defacing the given face outline. 2. Ask your child to deface the face outline by drawing and painting and writing and colouring things that frustrate them and make them angry. 3. What they decide to fill in the face is up to them (paintings, drawings, colouring/ words, poetry or all of them). 4. At the end of the activity, ask your child why they chose to fill the face with those words, colours, and drawings. 5. Now ask your child to turn the paper to the other side and ask them to now draw their own face and fill it with the things that they like about themselves, things that make them happy, things that excite them and things that calm them.
