Decoupage has been around since the 17th century and I (confession) have never ever done it. So when I saw a reel on Instagram of decorating Easter eggs with paper napkins and Mod Podge, I was all in! I did all kinds of research and watched probably a dozen tutorials. Turns out all you have to do is peel napkins and glue! It’s crazy easy but the effect looks quite involved. So I went to town ordering everything I needed for the project. I purchased three kinds of paper cocktail napkins: (Use these links below to get yours!) Small Floral Pattern https://amzn.to/3yoQP2X Happy Bumble Bees https://amzn.to/3Zy45xW Carrot Bushel https://amzn.to/3yoQYn1 (Maybe my most favorite) I’m happy to say that the supplies are minimal. Experience can be nothing at all. Just follow these easy steps and you’ll most likely be as addicted as me. Supplies -Eggs – I used 2″ and 4″ papier mache but you can also use wood -Paint – for mine I used bright matte white chalk paint and matte Vintage --White acrylic -2 Paint brushes -Napkins (links above!) -Mod Podge -Paper plate or cardboard for work surface Instructions -Start by painting your egg x2 coats. Let dry completely. -While paint is drying, peel your napkin. You want to remove the extra piles so it’s only the design layer left. -Cut out designs and set aside. If the design allows it, try cutting into various sizes. -Once your paint is dry, you can add some Mod Podge to your surface. You’ll want to work in small-ish sections. **Helpful Tip: You can cut slits around the cutout so when you glue down the paper, it will layer instead of wrinkle. Apply more glue around the edges making sure everything lays flat and as smooth as possible. -Let dry completely. **If you get wrinkles, you can smooth them out with your finger. https://talk2thehands.com/category/cr...
