Stay at home boredom has finally pushed me to do something I ought not to do; explain the Bioshock continuity, time paradoxes and all. This video covers EVERYTHING Bioshock: Bioshock, Bioshock 2, the novel Bioshock: Rapture, the 'There's Something in the Sea' ARG, Bioshock infinite, the Bioshock novella, 'Mind in Revolt', Burial at Sea Parts I and II, and even tweets and interviews where Ken Levine clarifies or adds to the canon. My head only hurts a little from piecing this all together since I don't think anyone was ever supposed to do that based on how some of the pieces of the story fit together. There were a lot, and I mean A LOT of retcons between Burial at Sea and Statements Levine has made so I tried to explain them as clearly as I could, going over where things come into conflict with other games. Don't worry if this makes you a little confused: it's not you, it's the games. I say Timeline(s) because that's the best way to explain how things work in Bioshock. It's not one timeline but several sets of timelines that are parallel to one another but occasionally are made to intersect thanks to Lutece Meddling.
