SUPPORT THE CHANNEL :   / videogameesoterica   Lately I have been all about the Konami Viper arcade PCB and games on the platform...and one of its must unique is Police 911, also known as The Keisatsukan (ザ・警察官) and while I own the game on the Konami Viper the controller setup for full motion controls is needlessly complex and I am still hunting for parts. Retro gaming and video game collecting can be like that sometimes. Good thing it randomly got ported to the PS2 then! Police 911 is a very interesting and unique retrogaming experience; its an unofficial sequel to the Lethal Enforcers franchise...and Lethal Enforcers 3 would go on to be a sequel to the Police 911 franchise...which is just confusing! What isn't confusing is this is one of the most interesting and unique arcade lightgun game around. It has full motion of your body via webcam hooked up into a PlayStation 2...or a full IR sensor array if you are playing on an arcade cabinet. Sadly the Konami Viper emulation in MAME isn't ready for primetime yet as all of the games are unplayable. So if there is enough interest I will get the rest of the hardware to get a real Konami Viper capture of Police 911 and its sequel...Police 911 2...which was never ported to any home console. Video game preservation and history all in one go! Its a mix of Sega’s Virtua Cop with Total Vice on the 3DO M2! Questions? Comments?
