Alain Barbeau is a bilingual Canadian singer, songwriter, and musician from Hull, Quebec. His music doesn’t try to impress,it invites. It invites you into a space that’s raw, warm, and human. Tu me suis wasn’t supposed to be recorded that day. But when Alain found himself back in the studio with Van, the same friend behind the console, the same eyes he remembered from their nights playing in the shadows of old Hull, something shifted. A memory surfaced. A version of himself from a decade ago, standing on stage with a song in his hands and no idea where life would take him. So he hit record. Ten years later, older, maybe a little softer, maybe a little stronger, he revisited Tu me suis not to relive the past, but to meet it. To see what it sounds like when a younger man’s song is sung by the man he’s become. He was curious to hear the voice, the playing, the face of that “older Alain” on a track that still carried so much. And somehow, the song still followed him, like certain feelings do.
