When I arrived in Idaho City on a warm Friday afternoon in October 2012 to film, time seemed to stop and the grungy day dragged lazily on for eternity. There was no hurry, no rush, no real sense of time. It was an incredible thing. Grant and Gavin showed me their shop, talked about their mining equipment and designs, then opened their lives to me. When night finally set in, I headed back toward Boise. The ride was interesting as I tried to digest the moments, the scene and the emotions. It's hard to explain how I felt while I was there, but I tried to recapture those feelings as I edited this video. The blues music, the pacing, the standing around-- it was all part of what I saw and felt while filming. As a filmmaker, I hope I captured that for the viewer. Thanks for watching! -- Ben
