Thailand surprised me in a way I didn’t expect. Instead of city lights and night markets, I found myself on a three-day jungle trek in the mountains — soaked in rain, exhausted, and questioning my decision almost immediately. What started as something that felt overwhelming slowly turned into one of my favorite memories from this trip. We hiked through rice fields and small villages, learned about local farming and coffee plants, swam in waterfalls, slept in a simple mountain hut, and experienced a completely different rhythm of life. By the end, what felt like a mistake became something meaningful. We also visited an ethical elephant sanctuary and went bamboo rafting before heading back to the city — a contrast that made this experience even more special.
