Join me as I visit South Barrule Plantation on the Isle of Man to see the impact of recent storms and the forestry harvesting that followed. From the road it may look like devastation, but as a plantation, much of this woodland was due for harvesting anyway. I start the journey in my BMW Z4, showing just how close the plantation is from Castletown, before setting out on foot as far as the cordoned areas allow. Along the way I enjoy a couple of great chats, then take to the drone for a bird’s-eye view of the storm damage and logging operations. Afterwards I stop by The Coffee Cottage for a much-needed flat white (thank you to the staff for letting me film inside!). This video also quietly marks a milestone — we’ve just passed 500 subscribers here on the channel. Thank you to everyone who’s supported the journey so far! 👣 Video highlights: • Drive in the BMW Z4 to South Barrule Plantation • Walking among the storm-damaged and harvested areas • Aerial drone footage showing the scale of the forestry work • A coffee stop at The Coffee Cottage • Reflections on change, community, and small milestones 🎧 NEW: The Isle of Man Vicar Podcast Now you can enjoy these walks as audio too! • Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/show/78YrTh1... • Apple Podcasts: https://podcasts.apple.com/gb/podcast... 🙏 If you enjoy these videos, you can support the channel: • Patreon: patreon.com/isleofmanvicar • Buy Me a Coffee: buymeacoffee.com/isleofmanvicar Take care, take care of yourselves, more importantly take care of each other.
