The Hard Times (or the Hardtimes) was a Psychedelic Folk Rock band from San Diego, California, which produced five singles and one album for World Pacific between 1966 and 1967 and one last single in 1968 as The New Phoenix. Released in January 1966, this non-LP track is on the A-side of their first single and I feel like listening to the first Beau Brummels!!! Members were: Larry Byrom (bass), Lee Keifer (harmonica, tambourine, vocals), Bill Richardson (lead guitar), Rudy Romero (12-string guitar), Paul Wheatbread (percussion). Richardson and Byrom later played in T.I.M.E. (two albums for the Liberty label 1968/1969) and Byrom with Steppenwolf on the album "Seven".
