Nelson Kite Festival 2019 - chaos and fun on Sunday

My 1.323rd kite video. The public day of this great event was almost ruined by the very strong and gusty wind, which made it impossible to fly the big kites. However, the great little kites designed by Ma Qinghua saved the day, amazingly acting as lifters for some "line laundry" items far bigger than they were. Towards the end, a few larger items flew, but there was nothing like the display that was possible the previous day. However, everyone seemed happy, and the fliers had a lot of fun as well as frustration. Many thanks to Ted and Gretchen Howard for organising this event, now in its 29th year, and a special mention to Vinny, a young local lad who was a tremendous help to everyone all weekend - he deserves a medal!
