At least one person remains in critical condition, according to officials. Boston Mayor Michelle Wu, BPD Commissioner Michael Cox and Suffolk County District Attorney Kevin R. Hayden said during a news conference the crash did not appear to be intentional at this time. “This easily could have been a far worse circumstance, given the time of day and how many people tend to be in this area at the time,” District Attorney Hayden told reporters. The truck was a yellow Penske rental truck and was out on rent to a commercial trucking company at the time of the incident, according to a statement from Penske.
