La bellissima spiaggia Fontanamare, si trova nel territorio di Gonnesa, e rappresenta la parte nord di un'unica spiaggia comprendente anche la spiaggia Plagemesu e la spiaggia Porto Paglia. La spiaggia Fontanamare è piuttosto estesa e si presenta con sabbia chiara ambrata e bianca, in grande quantità e molto compatta. Il mare che bagna la spiaggia Fontanamare, ha un fondale sabbioso e medio basso, dalla splendida policromia che include le varie tonalità del verde smeraldo e dell'azzurro. Come per le altre spiagge dell'Iglesiente, anche la spiaggia Fontanamare è spesso battuta dal maestrale, divenendo per questo motivo meta degli amanti del kytesurf e windsurf. Sulla spiaggia Fontanamare sono anche presenti i ruderi degli impianti legati all'attività mineraria ed estrattiva della zona, oltre all'antico porto minerario. Fantastici i tramonti e la vista su Pan di Zucchero. La spiaggia Fontanamare risulta essere affollata durante i mesi estivi.
