It seemed like forever, those four long years in high school. We were grown up enough to enter into the final phase of our educational career and we were excited about it. High School was a blast. High School became a routine that we absorbed and lived each day, contributing to the forward motion of our education. We didn't appreciate it then but our parents were right. They told us high school would be an important time in our life and that we should make the most of it. They told us to get involved and to do our best. Each of us contributed what we could and whether you were involved in sports, student government, drama, art, science, choir or just hung out in the parking lot, you contributed and are a part of the spirit of this place. It is a good spirit. High School all came together in a way that we didn't forget. It was important. It is a memory that lies deeply buried until the reunion activities occur. We joyfully meet the mates that we see occasionally or the ones that we have not spoken to since the day we left. We struggle to recognize some and are shocked that the passage of time has made everyone else get older. Now, we have been away ten times longer than we were ever there. The ratio of time spent/time away itself proves how important high school is. We look forward to the reunion events because we can see old friends and make new ones. The important things lasted - our friendships with each other. Friends we knew well and people that we wished we could spend more time with are all there. The playing field has mellowed us and we are just interested to be together, to get reacquainted, to appreciate one another. Whether you loved high school or went just to get it behind you, sit back, watch and relive high school for seven minutes.
