Episode 58 of We Are Black Independent takes a deep dive into the organization behind the ADOS movement and what it means for Tampa and the state of Florida. Originally founded by Yvette Carnell and Antonio Moore, the ADOS movement centers on lineage-based policy and reparations for the descendants of American slavery. From that work emerged the ADOS Advocacy Foundation — focused on building chapters across the country to organize, educate, and push for policy change. In this episode, we’re joined by: • Anthony Gilbert, Co-Coordinator, Florida Chapter • Ed, Co-Coordinator, Florida Chapter • Kevin Beckham, President, Tampa Chapter We discuss the origins of ADOS, the national structure, the launch of the Tampa chapter, upcoming meetings (including the March 14 gathering), reparations education, the ADOS Framework book discussions, and how local chapters plan to engage elected officials. This is a conversation about structure, strategy, and political accountability. If you’ve heard the term ADOS but want to understand the organization behind it — this episode is for you.
