Since I chose to modify my bench seat for storage purposes by adding a couple of dry hatches it only made sense to me to add some additional security by making them lockable. Obviously a determined thief that really wants to break in will gain access regardless what method you choose for security so I see no reason why to make it easy for them as compared to a casual thief which may move on preferring an easier target.
