Welcome to Anchorage Alaska! The largest city in Alaska and for many the port of call when flying into Alaska. During the Summer 100's of thousands of people filter in and out of this South Central Alaskan City. Usually on their way to catch a flight, train or bus ride to their official destination in Alaska. While Anchorage is pretty much an industrial port city, that many only use a staging point into Alaska. This city does have several hidden gems that are worth truly exploring. Starting in town, there are several great eateries to grab food from. Starting your day at Fire Island Rustic Bakeshop is a can't miss Bakery. Grabbing either Lunch or Dinner at 49th State Brewing Company is well worth the wait. Anchorage of course is just on the doorstep of some amazing nature and you don't have to go far from town to immerse yourself in to the wilds. Exploring the Alaska Botanical Gardens in the Summer showcases the floral beauty of Alaska. The trails of the Far North Bicentennial Park are a great first hike into the woods of Alaska. Just ALWAYS be BEAR AWARE!! Looking into the culture and history of the native tribes of Alaska is another great way to immerse yourself into Alaska. The Alaskan Native Heritage Center delves deep into the history of the Native Alaskan Tribes. Their dress, lifestyles and recreations of their living quarters. So much to see in and around the Anchorage area and I hope this guide will give a glimpse into what to expect next time you have a day to explore Alaska's largest city. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- For exclusive access and merch to the Travel Don Channel become a member of our community at: / adventuresofatravelingdon You can also support the channel at: https://buymeacoffee.com/traveldon ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Merch store is available at: https://www.etsy.com/shop/AwesomishDe... --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Looking to book a stay in Alaska?
