A storm is brewing in Parliament after revelations that President Duma Boko’s private photographers, contracted through M3 Media ,have received payments totalling close to P1 million from the government. This disclosure was made by the Minister of State President, Moeti Mohwasa, in response to a pointed question by Gamalete Member of Parliament Boniface Mabeo. The MP queried the rationale behind outsourcing photography services for the President, questioning if the funds used were sourced from the national treasury. Mabeo, visibly dissatisfied, labelled the practice as “a total waste of public funds”, noting that Botswana Government’s Information Services already employs skilled photographers with decades of experience, having covered heads of state since independence in 1966. “Why are experienced government photographers being sidelined?” Mabeo asked. “Why should taxpayers foot the bill for private services when we have capable personnel on payroll?” In defence, Minister Mohwasa clarified that the engagement of M3 Media photographers was not intended to replace government photographers. He insisted that official photographers continue to fulfil their duties, both domestically and internationally, and that the private team complements, rather than displaces, them. However, the explanation did little to calm critics who argue that this move could set a dangerous precedent raising concerns about unnecessary outsourcing and inflated costs in the Office of the President. As the debate continues, questions linger over transparency, value for money, and the future role of state-employed creatives in the new administration. #africa #botswana #botswanaspeaks #newvideo #motherland #news #uk #subscribemychannel #newgovernmentjob #usa #fypyoutube #youtubeshorts #youtube #youtuber #youtubevideo #youtubechannel #morocco #southafrica #nigeria #rwandatravel #dubai #ireland #westafrica #eastafrica #south
