Discover how we're using clever algorithms to strike the right balance between rising electricity demands and supply challenges. In this talk, we explore the complexities of optimizing synthetic power feed areas in municipalities amid the ongoing energy transition. Fueled by the increasing eletricity demand, our talk emphasizes the critical role of generated grid areas as indispensable tools for forecasting network inadequacies. By meticulously pinpointing when and where infrastructure may falter, these forecasts lay the groundwork for strategically planning optimized layouts of grid feed areas for a stable and secure energy supply. Crucially, the talk delves into the rationale behind the synthetic definition of feed areas, driven by the scarcity and variability of geospatial data. From an ideal scenario with comprehensive data to more common scenarios with partial or uncertain information, our algorithms address these challanges by leveraging GeoPandas for geospatial analysis.
