philosohy of Epicurus|| #philosphy #urdubooks #knowledge Epicurus (341–270 BCE) was a Greek philosopher who taught that the goal of life is happiness through pleasure, understood wisely and moderately. 1. Pleasure as the Highest Good Epicurus believed that pleasure (hedone) is the ultimate goal of human life. However, pleasure does not mean luxury or excess. True pleasure is the absence of pain in the body (aponia) and absence of disturbance in the mind (ataraxia). 2. Types of Pleasure Epicurus divided pleasures into: Natural and necessary (food, shelter, friendship) – essential for happiness Natural but unnecessary (rich food, comfort) – enjoyable but not needed Neither natural nor necessary (fame, power, luxury) – cause anxiety and should be avoided 3. Freedom from Fear Epicurus said fear destroys happiness, especially: Fear of gods – Gods exist but do not interfere in human affairs Fear of death – Death is simply the end of sensation; “when we are, death is not” Removing fear brings peace of mind. 4. Simple Living Epicurus taught that simple living leads to lasting happiness. Desiring little makes people more independent and less anxious. 5. Friendship Friendship is one of the greatest sources of happiness. Epicurus valued close friendships more than wealth or power. 6. Knowledge and Atomism He followed Democritus’ atomism, believing the universe is made of atoms and void. Knowledge helps remove superstition and fear. 7. Ethics and Wise Choice Epicurus emphasized prudence (wisdom). Not all pleasures should be chosen; some bring pain later. Wise people calculate consequences. urdu books book review books of philosphy philisphy in urdu review philosphy books general knowledge knowledge4u knowledge4u urdu urdu knowledge knowledge for yoy philosphy books philospher css pms issb compitative examination all knowledge not in books #books #urdubooks #bookstranslation #translaiontourdu #philsphy #knowledgeispower #learnwith #knowledge4u_urdu #knowledge #poetry #greatmind #Revolution #CSS #PMS #ISSB 🔵 𝗗𝗶𝘀𝗰𝗹𝗮𝗶𝗺𝗲𝗿 1.Copyright Disclaimer under section 107 of the Copyright Act 1976.
