This video was filmed by me on April of 2023 around 12:20am. Here is my link to my playlist called "El Cajon Freight Trains" so you can see all of the videos I filmed of this train rarely making it's way to El Cajon. • El Cajon Freight Trains Before I talk about this very rare event you are witnessing in my video, I have another story to share with you of more BS I went through this night before the freight train arrived and let me tell you, I am really getting sick of it. Before the freight train arrived, I sat off to the corner to the right of here waiting for the freight train to arrive. I was kind of hidden under some trees to stay dry from the drizzle that was falling and to feel a little safe since I was the only one out here past midnight and I was just watching a youtube video of Will Smith slapping Chris Rock on live TV. I was also a little close to some apartments but a good distance from it. Suddenly, while I'm watching youtube videos on my phone, this 18 year old looking dude opens his blinds and windows and stares at me for a good 20 seconds. I was aware of that, but I continued to show my innocence by sitting down watching youtube videos while waiting for the freight train to arrive. Then he starts talking to me asking me do I live there, I needed him to repeat the question and he got louder asking me again do I live there. I was confused why he asked me that but I said no and when I tried to tell him I was waiting for a train to arrive, he interrupts me and told me to "Get the F out of here", I said "Excuse me?" and he said it again. He also threatened to call the police on me if I didn't leave and that struck a nerve with me. I then became very pissed off that he would say such a thing because I keep saying it, I live a life where I am always misunderstood and judged by how I look. I had no choice but to move closer to where I was standing in this video and I was very pissed, but when the freight train came, I felt a lot better. That's my story. Anyway, this is personally my favorite railroad crossing ever in all of San Diego because of how unique it is. You see how the crossing signals to the right of me came on first and that's because the tracks were still aligned for the MTS trolleys that normally come by here during the day. Then when you see the freight train stop, the driver comes out and switches the tracks over which caused all of the crossing signals to come on and the traffic lights to flash red. Then when the train goes across the intersection, you hear another mechanical bell start ringing. That's because the gate next to me went up because it realized the train isn't going through there so drivers can turn. It's very cool and nostalgic to hear all the bells ringing here and this crossing also has the most mechanical bells in the entire county with a total of four in this video. If you want to see how the crossing signals respond when the freight train comes back, go to my video link below. Also if you want to see a MTS trolley come by here during the day, I have another video of that below too. Finally, if anyone was wondering why the crossing signals behind me at Fletcher Pkwy & Marshall Ave didn't activate, that was a very good question and I was confused by that too which was why I turned my camera towards it. It was the same way when the freight train came back too. I think the train drivers knew about it because one of them came out of the train and pressed the pedestrian button to get a green light just so they can get across. I did call MTS about it and they referred it to SDIV and they got it back on again. Here is my video of how the crossing signals activate when the freight train comes back. • #elcajon Freight Train Using Bypass #railr...
